( 7 ) North Parlour:
The large mahogany drop leaf table and the smaller drop leaf sewing table are
attributed to the well known local cabinet maker Thomas Nisbet. These pieces
have acanthus leaf carvings, spiral reeding, rosettes and brass animal claw
feet resting on caster. The gilt mirror with a plain cornice and ebonized
reeding above the large table is of the Sheraton period.
The wallpaper in these rooms is a reproduction of a pattern popular in the
pre-revolutionary colonies from the Schuyler House National Historic Park in
Saratog, New York. The brocade drapes are reproductions of those popular at the
time of the War of Independence.
